Lake Chabot Golf Course, established in 1923, is one of the Bay Area's municipal golf gems. At first glance, the less than 6000 yard layout appears prone for attack. But the subtleties of the hilly layout -- with small, greens that can rival the trickiness of nearby Sequoyah Country Club -- quickly become apparent as you wind your way through the course's hilly terrain.
Lake Chabot, which was redesigned by Robert Muir Graves in 1989, finishes up with the only par-6 in the Bay Area, an unforgettable 18th hole that funnels straight downhill towards the clubhouse.
