For years, Lone Tree has been the home of several high profile Bay Area events, including the Antioch City Championship. “The most challenging hole on the course would be No.1, a par-4 that is 407 yards from tee to pin. As with the majority of the holes on the course, there are not many hazards but No. 1 has a severe uphill slope to the green. Club selection is critical, and with a tree lined fairway, many a playoff has been decided by this popular hole.,” said Pat Cain, the head professional at Lone Tree for the past 25 years.
Lone Tree's up-and-down character is typified by No. 14, which starts from an elevated tee, drops down to the fairway, then heads up again to an elevated green. This extra elevation provides outstanding landscape views of the surrounding holes and mountain-like terrain in the distance.
