Sloane/Costanzo Win East County Mid-am/Senior Best Ball
ANTIOCH, Calif. (Feb. 19, 2017) -- Ralph Costanzo and his partner Ryan Sloane backed up their first round 63 with a solid 66 to win the 2017 East County Mid-Am/Senior Best Ball event at Lone Tree Golf Club in Antioch, Calif.
The duo finished three ahead of a trio of teams in soggy, cool, and rainy conditions. Finishing in a tie for 2nd were: Dale Bouguennec/Brett Viboch (66-66=132), Mark Casey/Scott Anderson (65-67=132), and Doc Miller/Garrett Wagner (65-67=132)
ROUND ONE STORY
Ryan Sloan and partner Ralph Costanzo lead after the first round of the East Coast Mid-am/Senior.
The pair posted a four-ball total of 63 (-9) led by Sloan's impressive 65 on his own ball. Having won the California State Fair master's division the past three years, Sloan is certainly in a familiar place atop the leaderboard.
A trio of teams are just two shots back including: Corey Houston/Thomas Harmon, Scott Anderson/Mark Casey, and Garett Wagner/Mark Miller. Reigning NCGA senior player of the year Dale Bouguennec and partner Brett Viboch are also in the hunt after opening with a 66.
The East Coast Mid-am/Senior is a unique four-ball event in which teams consist of one mid-am player (25-54) and one senior player (55+).
