OCEANSIDE, Calif. (Aug. 10, 2008)--Kenny Adams, a rising senior at the University of San Francisco and Fallbrook High graduate, won his third Oceanside City Championship title in three years by overcoming a windy, narrow Oceanside Municipal Golf Course by carding a 3-under-par 141.
Adams, who also won in 2007 and 2004, made bogey on four of his first five holes, but turned things around on the back nine with a 32 to take the victory.
"The start wasn't what I wanted, but I was able to finish strong and come away with a win," said Adams told the North County Times. "I knew at some point I would turn it on."
Dillon Hakes of Coronado took second at 141.
