2023 U.S. Girls' Junior Qualifying roundup
The U.S. Girls' Junior, played since 1949, will tee off at The Eisenhower Golf Club at the Air Force Academy July 17-22. Eisenhower will become the first military course to ever host a USGA championship.
A record 1,677 entries were accepted for the championship, and with only 24 players earning exemptions, the majority of the field will gain entry by qualifying at one of 44 sites across the United States.
Last year, Yana Wilson, 15, of Henderson, Nev., defeated 14-year-old Gianna Clemente, of Estero, Fla., 3 and 2, in the 36-hole championship match at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky. Battling extreme heat and humidity all week, Wilson, a quarterfinalist in 2021, added her name to the legendary list of champions on the Glenna Collett Vare Trophy.
