McKinnis, Stuntz win titles at Kansas Senior Amateur

MISSION HILLS, Kan. — Lyons' Tim McKinnis cruised an easy five shot victory at the 35th Kansas Senior Amateur Championship at Indian Hills Country Club in Mission Hills.
The 50-year reinstated amateur used rounds of 68 and 67 to finish at 5-under par 135 total for the 36-hole championship.
Past Senior Amateur champion Kevin Handlan, Leawood, finished in second at even par 140 total while Wichita's Tracy Chamberlin continued his stellar play with a third place finish at 2-over par 142 total.
In the Super Senior Division, Lawrence's Richard Stuntz also cruised to an easy victory. Stuntz finished the championship at even par 140 total to best the field by six shots.
Michael Carey took second place honors at 6-over par 146 total. Lenexa's Jim Lodes rounded out the top three in the super senior set.
