Talley maintains lead at Calif. Women's Amateur
NAPA, Calif. (July 17, 2012) – The second round of the 17th California Women’s Championship was completed today at the Chardonnay Golf Club under less extreme wind conditions than round one.
First round leader Emily Talley shot an even par 72 on the 6,157 yard track carding four birdies and four bogeys. Talley’s two-day total of 3-over-par 147 (75-72) is two strokes ahead of challenger Hannah Suh of San Jose. Suh also shot a 72 today posting a steady round with two birdies and two bogeys for a 36-hole score of 149 (77-72.)
Joining the group with another 72 was Spencer Heller of Turlock who carded one birdie and one bogey. Heller struggled in yesterday‘s opening round shooting an 84, but today’s even par round garnered her most improved in the field. Heller sits in third place at 156, (+12) and is nine behind Talley.
Tiffany Nichols of Castro Valley is in fourth at 157 (83-74) while Renata Young of Antioch holds on to fifth at 158 (84-74.)

handicap indexes in each division as of July 23,
2023.
