Stockton over Ogden at Salinas City Amateur
Salinas, Calif. (March 25, 2012) -- Ricky Stockton defeated Matt Ogden in the finals of the Salinas City Amateur Match play event 2 and 1. It was a finals that almost didn't happen for Stockton as his semi-finals match against Will Cross went 6 extra holes to decide a winner."My semi match was grueling," said Stockton. "I already played a match earlier that day and had to go six extra holes."In the finals Stockton went up against Ogden, a player whose game he knows well."My finals match today was fun," said Stockton. "I got to play the person I practice with. We know each others games well so we had to play mistake free. I just happen to make a few more putts."Stockton currently works at the Preserve Golf Club in Carmel Valley and plans on playing 15 events this year with the possibility of turning pro in the summer
