Rachetto captures South Dakota Match Play
DAKOTA DUNES, SD (July 10, 2011)–– Tyler Rachetto of Rapid City defeated Tom Carlson of Sioux Falls 2 and 1 in the 36-hole final to win the SDGA Match Play Championship at Moccasin Creek Country Club on Sunday in Aberdeen.
Rachetto, who won the Two-Man Championship last month with Tyler Evenson, led 2 up after the opening 18 holes. Carlson, a two-time winner of this event including here in 2008, battled back to grab a 1 up lead with 9 holes left. But Rachetto evened the match with a birdie on the par-4 12th and then regained the lead with a birdie on the par-3 13th.
After both made par on the 518-yard 14th, Rachetto birdied the 388-yard 15th to go 2 up.Rachetto closed out the match with a par on the 178-yard 17th.

Players must be 14 years of age by the first day of
competition. Non-exempt players must qualify.
There will be an 18-hole
stroke play round to determine the 96-player field
for the match-play portion of the Championship.Top
