AGC holding benefit tournament Nov. 10 for Monterey Parks Foundation
MONTEREY, Calif. (Oct. 30, 2008) – Take one look at the amateurgolf.com Tournament Series and you realize that we have quite the affinity for the Monterey Bay area. The scenic location, the ease of access from major Northern California cities and the fact that it teems with quality golf courses make it a favorite of our staff and our members.
In fact six of our 16 California tournaments were held at various Monterey courses.
So when we were presented with the opportunity to help out the Parks Foundation of Monterey County by hosting a tournament, it was a no-brainer to take them up on the offer.
amateurgolf.com members will also have a chance to contribute to this great cause on Nov. 10th, where $199 dollars will give get you a chance to enjoy a round at the prestigious Pasadera Country Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature course, located just off the scenic Salinas Highway, that provides a variety of shot values and jaw-dropping scenery as it winds its way up the foothill terrain. At the top of it all sits one of the most challenging and scenic par-3's anywhere, which you need to see to believe. Hole sponsorships are available for $1,000 dollars which includes festive signage for your company on one of the par 3's, plus a foursome of tournament golfers
Proceeds will help fund the Parks Foundation of Monterey County, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting youth, cultural, and environmental programs in Monterey County Parks -- including special needs and at-risk youth groups.
The Format will include two divisions: The traditional scramble from the white tees (without too many bells and whistles); plus a one best-ball gross and one best-ball net format from the blue tees for those who enjoy playing their own ball.
