FINAL RESULTS: PGA Tour Q-School First Stage

With Q-School Prequalifying now in the rearview mirror, dozens of amateurs will see the competition tighten as they join exempt professionals and amateurs in the First Stage of Q-School.

All 13 First Stages have now been completed, and we have all the amateurs that are advancing to the second stage of qualifying, which starts in mid-November.

Here are the full results and scoreboards from each first-stage site.

FLORIDA - COUNTRY CLUB OF OCALA

Derek Busby (a) – West Palm Beach, Fla. -- view profile

Busby is coming off a final 16 appearance in the 2024 U.S. Mid-Amateur, where he also finished T8 in the George Thomas Invitational and T12 at the Florida State Amateur. He made the match play portion of the 2020 U.S. Amateur and won the 2020 Gasparilla Invitational. 

He made the semifinals of the 2018 Crump Cup.

Busby made a run in the final round to try and make the cut, shooting a 4-under 68 to get to 4-under total, but he missed the cut by two shots. He shot rounds of 71-73-71-68 to get to 4-under and finish T29.

Jules Gentil (a) – Port Saint Lucie, Fla. -- view profile

Gentil shot rounds of 72-68-74 to finish T9 in the Georgia pre-qualifier. Gentil played his freshman year at Charleston Southern, where he had a strong debut season. While his recent tournament data is unavailable, his performance at the Kansas pre-qualifier reflects his competitive abilities.

Gentil opened up the tournament with a 3-over 75 and could never work his way into contention, shooting rounds of 75-69-78-82 to finish in 65th place and 16-over.

Kyle Martin (a) – Plant City, Fla. -- view profile

Kyle Martin, a competitive amateur golfer, had strong showings in the 2023 Sunshine State Men's Amateur (T3) and the 2024 Florida Amateur (T12). He also qualified for the 2021 U.S. Mid-Amateur and the 2013 U.S. Amateur as a player for Southeastern University, an NAIA program.

He shot rounds of 72-76-68 to finish T24 at the Alabama Pre-Qualifier.

Martin was in line to make the cut throughout the whole week, and was even in top five through thje first two rounds, but a devastating 2-over 74 in the final round saw him fall from inside the cutline to one shot outside of the cutline. He shot rounds of 67-70-72-74 to finish T24, while only the top 23 and ties made the cut to advance.  Martin was 6-under and inside the cutline with three holes left, but bogeys on holes No. 16 and 17 ended his chances to advance. 

Jianyou Piao (a) – Orlando, Fla. -- view profile

Piao finished T24 with rounds of 74-77-74 in the Illinois pre-qualifier. He played collegiate golf at Rollins College, a Division II school. Although tournament data is unavailable, Piao's participation in high-level events reflects his competitive ability.

Paio shot rounds of 73-77-77-78 to finish T66 and 17-over.

Alexandre Vandermoten (a) – Glen St. Mary -- view profile

Alexandre Vandermoten shot rounds of 67-71-68 to finish T11 in the Georgia pre-qualifier. He captured the Southeastern Amateur title in 2024 and has been a strong performer in various amateur events, including T12 at the Linger Longer Invitational and T13 at the Florida Gators Invitational.

Vandermoten was the lone amateur to advance from Ocala Country Club, shooting consistent rounds of 71-68-71-71 to finish 7-under and T14 and advance to the second stage. He was 9-under with four holes left, but bogeys on holes No. 15, 16 and 17 saw him fall to 6-under and put some pressure on hole No. 18 to make a par. He made a birdie to secure his spot in the next stage. 


ALABAMA - MAGNOLIA GROVE CROSSING

Nathan Cossement (a) - Belgium -- view profile

Cossement, a Belgian amateur, has consistently performed across European tournaments, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the 2024 Belgian Amateur Championship and a top-20 finish in the Dutch Men’s Amateur. Cossement was exempt through pre-qualifying. 

Cossement finished T61 with rounds of 74-69-70-69 and finished 6-under, nine shots off the cutline. The opening round of 2-over 74 saw Cossement fall off the pace immediately, and he was unable to recover.  

El Mehdi Fakori (a) - Morocco -- view profile

Fakori is one of Morocco's rising stars in amateur golf. He found his footing in the Elite Amateur Series over the summer, with strong finishes at the Trans-Mississippi Amateur and the Sunnehanna Amateur. Fakori also reached the final 16 at the South African Amateur and a top 20 at the African Amateur Championship. He was exempt through pre-qualifying.

Similar to Cossement, Fakori struggled in the first round and was unable to get back into the thick of things. He shot rounds of 75-67-67-72 to finish 7-under.

Bartley Forrester (a) - Gainesville, Ga. -- view profile

Forrester enters the first stage after earning medalist honors in his Georgia pre-qualifier, firing rounds of 65-67-62 to finish at 16-under and win by three strokes. Forrester has built a strong reputation in amateur golf and in his successful career at Georgia Tech, with a standout win at the 2022 Monroe Invitational and a co-victory at The Calusa Cup. He reached the Final 32 of the 2022 U.S. Amateur and secured multiple top-10 finishes, including T8 at the 2024 Amer Ari Invitational, ACC Championship, and NCAA East Regional.

Forrester was one of six golfers to finish over par, shooting rounds of 71-70-70-79 to finish 2-over. He was 5-under entering the final round, and a low score would have seen him contend for the cutline, but he went the opposite way, shooting a 7-over 79.

Jerry Ji (a) - Netherlands -- view profile

Ji finished California pre-qualifying in a tie for 4th at 1-over-par, with rounds of 72-71-74. Ji, from the Netherlands, has achieved notable finishes such as T12 at the 2024 St. Andrews Links Trophy and T7 at the Fighting Illini Spring Collegiate. His strong 2023 season included an 11th-place finish at the St. Andrews Links Trophy and a top-10 finish at the Purdue Fall Invitational. 

Ji blitzed the back nine on the final day to get in position to advance to the second stage, but he bogeyed No. 18 to fall out of the cutline. The cutline fell at 15-under, and birdies on holes No. 13, 14, 15, and 17 got Ji to 9-under for the day and to 15-under, but the unfortunate bogey on No. 18 saw him miss advancing by one shot. Ji shot rounds of 71-70-69-64 to get to 14-under and finish T22, with top 21 players and ties advancing. 

Grant Leaver (a) - Centerville, Tenn. -- view profile

Leaver finished pre-qualifying in Alabama in 23rd place at 1-under-par, with rounds of 68-75-72. A standout from Centerville, Tennessee, Leaver had a stellar college career at Austin Peay State University, winning five individual titles. Leaver earned first-team All-OVC honors twice and set the program's career low-scoring average (72.8). He finished in the Top 20 in 9 of his 11 senior season events, including a second-place finish at the 2008 OVC Championship, which earned him a spot in the NCAA Regional. After turning professional in 2008 and competing in multiple PGA and Nationwide Tour events, Leaver transitioned to a career as a personal trainer.

Leaver got better throughout the week, but his early rounds proved too much to overcome, as he shot rounds of 74-73-72-68 to finish 1-under and T72.

Jimmy Meyers (a) - Wexford, Pa. -- view profile

Meyers tied for 14th in the Ohio pre-qualifier at 3-under-par, posting rounds of 70-73-70. Meyers has consistently performed well in amateur golf, with a notable 2nd-place finish at the 2023 National Golf Invitational and a T7 at the Quail Valley Collegiate. He also placed T10 at the 2024 Seahawk Intercollegiate and T19 at the Big Ten Championship.

Meyers shot rounds of 69-73-65-72 to finish T52 at 9-under, six shots off the cutline. His third round of 7-under 65 kept him in it, but he could not keep that consistency throughout the week.

Chanc Willis (a) - Cartersville, Ga.

Willis tied for 11th in pre-qualifying in Georgia at 4-under-par, recording rounds of 69-69-68. Chanc Willis played NAIA golf at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia. Willis struggled this week, shooting rounds of 73-75-68-76 and finishing T78 at 4-over. 


CALIFORNIA - BEAR CREEK GOLF CLUB

2021 Pacific Coast Amateur champion and former UCLA standout Devon Bling shot rounds of 67-72-79-64 to finish 6-under and T19. Bling's final round of 8-under 64 was an impressive 15 shots better than his third round and saw him jump over 20 spots and into the cutline on the number. He recorded eight birdies and no bogeys in the final 18 holes. He made a birdie on No. 18 to make the cut and advance.

Yuki Bannai (a) - San Juan Capistrano, Calif. -- view profile

Bannai finished Texas pre-qualifying in a tie for 20th at 1-under-par, with rounds of 69-75-71. Originally from San Juan Capistrano, California, Bannai played his collegiate golf at Pomona-Pitzer, a Division III school. Bannai has found success in his home state, finishing T13 at the 2023 Long Beach Amateur and T7 at the Oceanside City Championship.

Bannai started strong with two rounds of 3-under 69 to get to 6-under, but a third and fourth round 6-under 78 saw him fall down to 6-over and T54.

Dylan Brack (a) - Riverside, Calif. -- view profile

Brack won his California pre-qualifying with a dominant performance, finishing at 13-under-par, with rounds of 70-70-63. Brack, 18 years old, has been steadily climbing the ranks in amateur golf, earning a qualifying spot in the 2024 U.S. Amateur. His notable finishes include a T3 at the Inland Empire Amateur and a solid performance at the California State Open.

Brack shot the same score as Bannai, shooting 6-over and finishing T54, but he shot rounds of 71-77-71-75 to get there.

Brian Nielsen (a) - Riverside, Calif. -- view profile

Nielsen finished California pre-qualifying in 27th place at 3-over-par, with rounds of 74-73-72. Nielsen played collegiately at Cal State San Bernardino. Nielsen finished 22-over, starting the tournament with a 10-over 82 in the opening round. 

Isaac Rodea (a) - San Diego, Calif. -- view profile

Rodea tied for 21st in California pre-qualifying at 2-over-par, recording rounds of 70-71-77. Rodea played collegiately at Long Beach State and has had notable finishes in 2024, including a T10 at the Southern California Open and a T11 at the California State Open. His consistency in the amateur ranks – and success in professional events – has earned him recognition as one of California's top amateurs.

Rodea finished 9-over and T60 with rounds of 74-73-76-74. 


INDIANA - CHAMPIONS POINTE GOLF CLUB

No amateurs were in the field in Indiana this week, but recent Indiana graduate, and 2023 Ohio Amateur runner-up Drew Salyers finished T11 at 13-under with rounds of 70-66-70-69. Recent Notre Dame graduate Palmer Jackson also advanced, shooting rounds of 68-70-66-71 to also finish T11 at 13-under.


TEXAS - ABILENE COUNTRY CLUB

Jeg Coughlin III (a) - Delaware, Ohio -- view profile

Coughlin finished pre-qualifying in Ohio in a tie for 33rd at 3-over-par, with rounds of 74-71-74. Coughlin played collegiate golf for Ohio State University and earned medalist honors at both the 2023 U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifying and U.S. Open Local Qualifying.

Coughlin finished 9-under and T17, becoming the only amateur to advance from this week's qualifying sites. He shot rounds of 71-71-67-70 to get to 9-under. According to Monday Q Info on X, his dad, Jeg Coughlin Jr, is a NHRA Drag Racer, who has 65 wins and 5 Championships, and Jeg Coughlin III worked as the President of Jeg's Automotive, the 2nd largest mail order Auto parts business in the US. 

Soufiane Dahmane (a) - Morocco -- view profile

Dahmane finished California pre-qualifying in a tie for 35th at 4-over-par, with rounds of 71-77-72. Dahmane, a Moroccan amateur, finished T11 at the 2024 French International Amateur Stroke Play and placed T17 at the 2024 African Amateur Championship. He has also competed on the Asian Tour, where he finished 68th at the 2023 Saudi Open.

AJ Fitzgerald (a) - Salinas, Calif. -- view profile

Fitzgerald finished California pre-qualifying in a tie for 35th at 5-over-par, with rounds of 75-75-71. AJ Fitzgerald, who played a year of college golf at CSU Monterey Bay, has posted several strong finishes in California amateur events, including runner-up at the San Francisco City Championship and a 2nd place at the Northern California Stroke Play. He also qualified for the U.S. Amateur in 2024.

Brock Healy (a) - Norcross, Ga. -- view profile

Healy finished pre-qualifying in Alabama in a tie for 35th at 4-over-par, with rounds of 71-75-74. Healy, a graduate of the Kennesaw State Men’s Golf Team, has plenty of top finishes, including a T6 at the 2024 AAC Championship and victories, including victories at the 2023 Quail Valley Collegiate and First Coast Amateur.

Blades Brown (a) - Nashville, Tenn. -- view profile 

Brown is one of the top junior golfers in the country. This year, he made the cut at a PGA Tour event, the round of 16 at the Western Amateur, and the final 32 of the U.S. Junior Amateur. He shot a 5-under 67 in the first round to find himself inside the cutline and then followed it up with a 3-under 69 in the second round. A third-round 4-over 76 saw him fall off the pace, but he fired back with a 2-under front nine to move to get to 6-under. Needing a 35 on the back nine, Brown did his part with three birdies but bogeys on four out of five holes from Nos. 13-17 more than erased them. Brown’s rounds of 67-69-76-71 (5-under) left him two shots higher than the cutline but with solid experience for his next attempt.

Croker shot rounds of 70-71-67-72 to finish 8-under and T18, advancing to the second stage of Q-School. 

Gavin Clements (a) - Franklin, Tenn. -- view profile

Chomyn did not qualify, finishing 18-over and in solo 62nd place after rounds of 75-75-78-74.

Sam Lape (a) - Atlanta, Ga. -- view profile

Lape, one of the top golfers in Furman University history, finished T35 at 5-over and missing the cutline by three shots. He carded rounds of 72-74-69-74.

Clay Seeber (a) - Newport Beach, Calif. -- view profile

Seeber got close to advancing, finishing 3-over and just one shot off the 2-over cutline. He birdied No. 16 to get to 2-over and inside the cutline, but a bogey on No. 17 saw him fall back to 3-over.

Winston Wang (a) - Coto De Caza, Calif. -- view profile

Wang did not qualify, shooting rounds of 78-74-78-78 and finishing in solo 66th place at 24-over.

Weinberg was consistent, shooting rounds of 70-72-70-72 to finish even par and T13, joining Amat and advancing to the second stage of Q-School.

Bebich played for Washington State University, enjoying a standout collegiate career with multiple top finishes, including a runner-up at the 2023 Pacific Invitational. He was also named the 2023-24 Pac-12 Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, highlighting his academic and athletic balance. Bebich has also competed in notable events like the U.S. Amateur, qualifying in 2022.

He shot rounds of 76-77-75-69 to finish 9-over.

Mateo Fuenmayor (a) - Beaverton, OR -- view profile>
Fuenmayor, who played for Oregon State, grew as a player by lowering his scoring average substantially during his collegiate career. In 2023/2024 for the Beavers, he fnished with two rounds under par five times: the Husky Invitational, Cal Poly Invitational, Amer Ari Invitational, The Prestige, and the Redhawk Invitational and shot a low round of 66 at The Oregon State Invitational.

He shot rounds of 80-76-74-70 to finish 12-over.

Matthew Manganello (a) - Las Vegas, NV -- view profile>
Manganello played for Fresno State, where in 2022/2023 he became the first Bulldog to earn two medalist honors in the same season since Nick Watney in 2002 with wins at the Saint Mary's Invitational and the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.

He shot rounds of 74-71-67-76 to finish even par.

Ben Warian (a) - Stillwater, MN -- view profile>
Warian excelled as a member of the University of Minnesota Gophers golf team, and upon graduation in May of 2024 he won a big event on the amateur golf summer circuit in June at the Sunnehanna Amateur. He came out firing on all cylinders in round one at Southern Dunes, posting a 66 to stand in second position. 

Warian shot rounds of 66-73-69-70 to finish 10-under and qualify for the second stage.

Neuheisel has been competitive at the national level, including reaching the quarterfinals of the California Amateur.

Neuheisel shot rounds of 72-76-70-70 to finish 4-over.

Ben Partridge (a) - Surrey, UK -- view profile>
Partridge is a notable UK-based golfer who played for Hutchinson Community College before transferring to University of San Francisco. A pivotal moment in his career came in the summer of 2023 when he secured the Tillman Trophy, securing full status on the Clutch Pro Tour for 2025. This tour comprises 24 events, culminating in the top 5 players earning a coveted Challenge Tour card.

He shot rounds of 80-73-68-70 to shoot 7-over.
