Marco Florioli Dominates Italian Amateur Stroke Play

Marco Florioli from Bergamo, Italy, secured a decisive victory at the Italian Amateur Stroke Play Championship / Franco Bevione Trophy, held at the National Golf of Sutri (VT).
Florioli, son of professional golfer Massimo Florioli, delivered an impressive performance, finishing with a 12-under 276. His rounds of 66-69-70-71 ensured a wire-to-wire win, replicating his triumph from 2021.
In 2024, Florioli competed in 17 ranked events across seven countries, winning the Mattone d’Oro and achieving four additional top-10 finishes.
His accolades include leading Italy to victory in the 2022 World Amateur Team Championship, and securing titles in the Tre Tone Boys / Marazza Trophy (2021, 2022), Absolute Match Play / Giuseppe Silva Trophy (2022), Pulcini Championship (2019), and the Belgian International Golf Championship Boys U14 (2019).
Lorenzo Lombardozzi finished as the runner-up with a 9-under par, posting rounds of 70-70-71-68. Neri Checcucci and Carlo Melgrati tied for third place, each recording a 6-under par. Checcucci's rounds were 71-70-71-70, while Melgrati shot 72-69-70-71.
Filippo Ponzano, Filippo Marchi, and Sebastiano Moro each finished in fifth place with a 5-under 283. Lapo Francesco Bisazza secured eighth position with a 4-under 284, while defending champion Luca Memeo and Tommaso Zorzetto tied for ninth place with a 3-under 285.
