Riding a three-match win streak, the USA Curtis Cup Team has turned its attention to the 2024 Match, today announcing the 12 players who have been invited by the USGA’s International Team Selection Working Group to attend a practice session Jan. 19-20 at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Fla., and Pine Tree Golf Club in Boynton Beach, Fla. The 43rd Curtis Cup Match will be held at Sunningdale (England) Golf Club from Aug. 30-Sept. 1.

The following 12 players have accepted invitations to the practice session (with current and future college affiliation):

Zoe Campos, 20, of Valencia, Calif. (UCLA)
Gianna Clemente, 15, of Estero, Fla.
Anna Davis, 17, of Spring Valley, Calif. (Auburn University)
Laney Frye, 21, of Nicholasville, Ky. (Kentucky)
Rachel Kuehn, 22, of Asheville, N.C. (Wake Forest)
Anna Morgan, 22, of Spartanburg, S.C. (Furman)
Catherine Park, 19, of Irvine, Calif. (University of Southern California)
Kiara Romero, 17, of San Jose, Calif. (University of Oregon)
Amanda Sambach, 21, of Pinehurst, N.C. (Virginia)
Megan Schofill, 22, of Monticello, Fla. (Auburn University)
Latanna Stone, 22, of Riverview, Fla. (LSU)
Yana Wilson, 17, of Henderson, Nev. (University of Oregon)

Four USGA champions are among the players invited: Gianna Clemente (2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball), Kiara Romero (2023 U.S. Girls’ Junior), Megan Schofill (2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur) and Yana Wilson (2022 U.S. Girls’ Junior).

Two players competed in the 2022 Curtis Cup Match at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa.: Rachel Kuehn and Latanna Stone. Kuehn also competed in the 2021 Curtis Cup Match at Conwy Golf Club in Wales, registering the clinching point in both competitions.

In addition, Davis, Kuehn and Schofill recently represented the USA at the 2023 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship.

Meghan Stasi, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will captain the 2024 USA Team. A four-time U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur champion, Stasi was a member of the 2008 victorious USA Curtis Cup Team held on the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland.

“Since being named Curtis Cup captain almost a year ago, I’ve had the opportunity to meet some of these women and re-immerse myself in the elite amateur game,” said Stasi, “but having this squad in place and this practice session on the calendar feels like the first real step in building our team for next summer. The Curtis Cup is such a defining part of my golf career, and being able to lead this team next year is something I am very much looking forward to.”

An invitation to the Curtis Cup practice session does not guarantee selection to the eight-player USA Team. Players not invited will also be considered for inclusion on the team.

The Curtis Cup Match is contested by two teams of eight female amateur players, one from the United States of America and one from Great Britain and Ireland, which is comprised of England, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The USGA’s International Team Selection Working Group selects the USA Team, while The R&A selects the GB&I Team.

Major champion Catriona Matthew will serve as GB&I captain.

The USA defeated GB&I, 15½-4 ½ in June 2022 at Merion Golf Club, and leads the overall series, 31-8-3.
