Just like at the 2023 Picard Cup at Canterbury Golf Club in Cleveland, Ohio, Sam Jackson and Zachary Herold finished at the top of the leaderboard again.

This time, it was the 2023 Chanticleer National Four-Ball Invitational at Greenville Country Club (Chanticleer Course) in Greenville, S.C., where the duo found themselves hoisting the trophy when it was all said and done.

Jackson and Herold won the tournament with a score of 10-under, surviving in a three-team playoff as Matthew Hayes and Garland Ferrell and Josh Fickes and JD Lehman also finished 10-under with Jackson and Herold.

"I would say we “brother in law’ed” it pretty well," Jackson said. "We both hit it really good at times and not so good others, but whenever one of us didn’t play a hole great, the other had their back.

"I would agree with Sam in saying we “brother in law’ed” it well for the tournament," Herold added. "I am fortunate to have a great partner that I can lean on when I am struggling, and we have been able to develop a good team chemistry which has helped us perform well in fourballs over the last few years."

After round one, the three groups that forced the playoff were also the three leaders, as they all shot 6-under 66 to pace the field.

After winning two of the top mid-amateur tournaments this season, Jackson and Herold are excited to see what the future can bring.

"It just shows our games can travel and play on different types of courses and grasses against the best Mid-Amateur's anywhere," Jackson said.

Herold added, "It is an honor to win either of them, but to win both in the same year is a great accomplishment. Looking forward to 2024 and seeing if we can accomplish even more."
