Jeremy Sisson tops a crowded Dixie Amateur leaderboard with one round to go

After a second-straight round of even-par 72,
Jeremy Sisson (Skaneateles, N.Y.) will attempt to go wire-to-wire at the Dixie Amateur at Eagle Trace Golf Club in Coral Springs, Fla.
Sisson, who plays collegiately at Nebraska, rode an opening round of 3-under 69 to a lead that he has yet to relinquish through three rounds at the former PGA Tour stop. He joined the Nebraska men’s golf program after spending his freshman season at Arkansas in a redshirt year.
He will have plenty of chasers heading into Sunday, including the defending champion
Evan Myers (Northbrook, Ill.), who sits just one shot back at 2 under par. Mid-amateur
Jose Vega (Doral, Fla.) and
Tristan Wieland (Jupiter, Fla.) are also at that figure.
With the next group of players five additional shots back at 3 over, it is looking like the champion will be one of the top four.
The former host of the PGA Tour Honda Classic bared its teeth Saturday, allowing only 4 subpar rounds after 9 on Friday and only 3 on Thursday.
