2021 U.S. Open Local Qualifying roundup
U.S. Open qualifying concluded on May 18. Golfers from across the country (and across the world) took their best shot at getting to the next stage with the goal of qualifying for the 121st U.S. Open Championship in June at Torrey Pines (South Course) in Southern California.

A total of 8,680 professional and amateur golfers vied for 500 spots across 123 local qualifying sites. Successful qualifiers move on to one of 12 sectional qualifying sites--ten in the U.S., one in England and one in Japan.

ABOUT THE U.S. Open Local Qualifying

18-hole stroke play qualifier open to male amateurs with a handicap of 0.4 and below. Players who advance will get to choose their top three sectional qualifying sites. The number of qualifying spots will depend on the size of the field.
