Report: Romo using Spieth, Woods hand-me-downs at Pebble

Tony Romo is teeing it up again this week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Romo, however, is far from the casual celebrity golfer. Over the past year, the 38-year-old has turned up everywhere from the Wisconsin State Amateur to elite amateur events.
This week at Pebble Beach, a closer look inside his bag by
Golf.com’s Jonathan Wall revealed some second-hand sticks passed on from a few very notable players. Romo was on the range at Pebble Beach with a Nike Method 001 putter from Tiger Woods and a 60-degree Titleist Vokey SM7 lob wedge from Jordan Spieth. The latter even has Spieth’s initials and a Texas Longhorn logo on it.
Romo told Golf.com that he has been using the wedges from Jordan for about a year.
Romo’s 2018 season ended with a run at Web.com Tour Q-School, but he failed to make it through the first stage. Romo did, however, contend at the 2018 Carlton Woods Invitational, finishing an eventual T-8, and he won the Racine (Wis.) Tri-Course Amateur by nine shots. He was T-13 at the Wisconsin Amateur and also teed it up at the Western Amateur for the second year in a row but missed the 36-hole cut there.
