EATONTON, GA (June 2, 2017) - The semifinals have been determined at the Georgia Women's Match Play Championship. Top seed in the Women's Match Play Championship, Hannah Mae Deems of Taylorsville, earned a pair of wins on Friday over Meghan Nay of Canton (2 and 1) in the round of 16 and Woo Wade of Dunwoody (2 and 1) in the quarterfinals. She will face Tess Davenport of Buford in the first semifinal match of the Championship division on Saturday at 8:16 a.m. Davenport outlasted Abigail Bolt of Canton (20 holes) in the round of 16 and Elisa Yang of Norcross (20 holes) in the quarterfinals.
The other semifinal match on Saturday will feature Katy Harris of St. Simmons Island who defeated reigning champion, Louise Yu of Duluth, (1 up) in the round of 16 and number two seed Hannah Barger of Elberton (3 and 2) in the quarterfinals. Harris will take on Caroline Craig of Sautee Nacoochee in the second semifinal match. Craig defeated Payton Schanen of Johns Creek (3 and 1) in the round of 16 and Ashley Madden of Stockbridge (1 up) in the quarterfinals. The match will begin at 8:24 a.m. The Championship Match in the Senior Women's Match Play will feature Betsy Butler of Atlanta against Georgia Golf Hall of Famer, Laura Coble of Augusta and will begin at 8:56 a.m.
Butler advanced to the Championship match by outlasting Deb Agran of Greensboro (21 holes) in the quarterfinals and upsetting number one seed Jill Rhodes of Sandy Springs (1 up) in the semifinals. Coble advanced with dominating wins over Leslie Elkins of Roswell (3 and 2) in the quarterfinals and Susan Rheney of Greensboro (4 and 3) in the semifinals.
The 20th playing of this competition is taking place at Reynolds Lake Oconee - Great Waters, May 31-June 3.
The Women played 36 holes of stroke play qualifying to determine seeds with the low 32 players advancing to match play. The low 16 qualifying scores will comprise the Championship flight and the remaining 16 players will be seeded into a Tournament flight based on qualifying scores.
The Senior Women played 36 holes of stroke play qualifying to determine seeds with the low 32 players advancing to match play. The low 8 qualifying scores will comprise the Championship flight and the remaining 24 players will be seeded into three flights based on qualifying scores.

play for the low 32 players; the low 16 qualifying
scores will comprise the Championship Flight; the
