Jay Reynolds captures Austin Morris Williams Mid-Amateur

AUSTIN, TX (April 2, 2017) -- Jay Reynolds has had a strong start to his 2017 season. After winning two early season Texas Golf Association events he has now won the Morris Williams Mid-Amateur Spring Golf Championship as well.
Reynolds finished the weekend at Roy Kizer Golf Course 6-under following consecutive 3-under 68's to win by a shot over runner-up Steve Paterson at 5-under. The remainder of the top-five included Barrett Sandefur in third place at 3-under in third while Matt Riley, Robert Evans and Sam Wallach shared fourth at 1-under.
Reynolds began his final round with a birdie on No. 1 and overall he rolled in five birdies against two bogeys during the final round. The decisive birdie however wouldn't come until late in the round on No. 17.
Overall for the week Reynolds birdied nine-times and bogey just three holes.
In the First Flight Rithy Khem (+5) captured the title finishing in front of second place finisher Jeremy Williams (+8).
Patrick Dickson and Jerry Attaway shared third place.
