Markus Braadlie leads European Nations Cup after First Round

SOTOGRANDE, Spain (March 29, 2017) -- After the first round of the European Nations Cup Markus Braadlie of Norway is 4-under and leading the way. Playing at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, Braadlie will carry a two-stroke lead into the second round.
Braadlie started his day with a bogey but he quickly got that stroke back with a birdie on the next hole. Following a run of pars Braadlie reached the red for good with a 9th hole birdie and then he reached 2-under with a birdie on the 11th. The 2016 Duke of York runner-up did drop one more stroke on the 13th hole before sprinting to the finish with 14th, 16th and 17th hole birdies.
Jack Davidson and David Boote of Wales are tied for second at 2-under, Robin Dawson of Ireland is the final player under-par as he sits in fourth at 1-under while three others share fifth with an even-par tally.
MEN'S TEAM
With day one in the books the team from Wales is leading the way. Team Wales, 2-over, is represented by Jack Davidson, David Boote, Owen Edwards and Joshua Davies.
Norway is in second place at 5-over and Germany is 8-over in third.
WOMEN'S DIVISION
Things are bottled up in the Women's Division and the tight race starts at the top where you can find Roos Haarman of Holland and Scotland's Chloe Goadby tied for the lead at even-par.
Switzerland's Tiffany Arafi is 1-over and in third.
WOMEN'S TEAM
The team out in front in the Women's Team race is Holland. Representing Holland this week are Roos Haarman, Romy Meekers and Zhen Bontan.
Behind 4-over Holland comes France and Switzerland in a tie for second at 6-over.
