amateurgolf.com Announces Capitol City Amateur
CARLSBAD, California (March 29, 2007) -- amateurgolf.com is pleased to announce the addition of the amateurgolf.com Capitol City Amateur to our 2007 Tournament Series schedule. The event will be played on May 19-20 in Rocklin, near Sacramento. The host course, Whitney Oaks, is a past host of the Canadian Tour that has undergone a major renovation during the past 12 months and is expected to be in prime shape for our tournament. Entries are now being accepted.
Nestled in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills, Whitney Oaks Golf Club provides one of the finest golf experiences in Northern California. Professional golf legend Johnny Miller and Santa Rosa golf course architect Fred Bliss designed the challenging 6,800-yard course that is owned and operated by BrightStar Golf. The majestic oak trees and large granite outcroppings provide one of the regions most dramatic settings. Come see our $700,000 course renovation including green surrounds with new drainage, irrigation, blue-rye sod and Bermuda collars. Two greens have been rebuilt for better playing positions. The bunkers have all been reshaped, lined and filled with beautiful Pebble Beach white sand. Our Bermuda fairways are cleaner than ever and growing nicely for the season! The experience is not only unforgettable but also represents one of the
best values anywhere.
