Dolly Coleman, Tina Barker team for NCGA Women's Four-Ball victory

PEBBLE BEACH, FL (November 17, 2016) -- Green Valley Country Club members Dolly Coleman and Tina Barker made it two in a row, shooting a two-day score of 8-over 150 to win the Northern California Women's Four-Ball hosted by Poppy Hills Golf Course by eight-strokes. The Coleman/Barker squad opened with a 79, but bounced back when it counted, carding a final round even-par 71 that included four birdies and four bogeys.
For Coleman/Barker their birdies came on the 4th, 6th, 11th and 17th holes.
BIG SUR FLIGHT (Handicap Index 28-Lower)
Dorothy Donnelly and Suzy Duarte followed up a sizzling first round 4-under 67 with a 71 to come in at 4-under 138 and win by two shots. The Donnelly/Duarte team posted three eagles and nine birdies overall in both rounds.
Second place went to the tandem of Karen O’Neill and Jeanette Chang at 140 after a 71. Third place went to Vivian French and Connie Huckaba at 141.
GOLDEN GATE FLIGHT (Handicap Index 29-39)
Sue Stryker and Stacey Baba returned to the winners’ circle, posting a stellar final round 64 to come in at 7-under 135, good enough for a three shot win. The Stryker/Baba team was a scoring machine in the final round, posting an eagle to go with nine birdies.
Second place went to Jane Henry and Maxine Monaghan at 138 following a 66. Third place went to the team of Ria Eagen and Gail Rogers at 142 following a second straight round of 71.
YOSEMITE FLIGHT (Handicap Index 40-Above)
Belmont Country Club members Christine Diesslin and Mary Lynch caught fire, posting a second round 65 to finish at 8-under 133 and win by three shots. The Diesslin/Lynch team had an eagle and eight birdies in the finale to seal the deal.
Second place went to the tandem of Tamara Waddell and Dana Carrigan at 136 after a 67. Third place went to the tandem of Bonnie Hagen and Suejane Han, who also finished at 136. after a card-off with Waddell and Carrigan.
TOURNAMENT NOTES
Jane Henry had the shot of the tournament, acing the 99-yard. par-3 11th using a 9-iron in the second round.
