Mark Warman Ties Tournament Record in San Clemente City Win

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (October 16, 2016) -- San Clemente native Mark Warman captured the San Clemente City Sunday, tying the tournament record along the way.
Warman backed up his 8-under 64 yesterday with yet another 64 Sunday. Amazingly, Warman hit every green in regulation over the 36 hole weekend. His 128 total ties the record held by Jeff Coburn.
15 year old Alex Pak finished 2nd alone with a 36-hole total of 137 (66, 71). The San Clemente High schooler finished two shots ahead of San Clemente native Casey Strohsahl, making it all San Clemente natives in the top three. Low senior honors went to Greg Schweitzer with rounds of 71 and 69.

Former San Diego State golfer Mark Warman opened with an 8-under 64 to take the lead at the San Clemente City Amateur hosted by San Clemente Golf Course.
Warman, a San Clemente native, holds a 2-shot advantage over Orange Coast College player Austin Briggs and San Clemente native Alex Pak. Chase Ora, Miles Valentine, and Marcus Kiel each lurk three-shots back after opening with 5-under 67.
The field was cut to the low 80 players fell at 4-over 76 after Saturday's opening round. The final round is underway this morning with the leaders teeing off at 10:10am local time.

California. There will be 2 divisions, regular and
senior (55 and older). Cut after Saturday
to low 60 for regular and 20 for senior. Entry fee
