Megan Mingo cruises to South Dakota Women's Amateur title

YANKTON, SD (August 14, 2016) -- With rounds of 73-74-72 Megan Mingo finished even-par and won the South Dakota Women's Amateur by nine-strokes. The South Dakota State senior took a one-stroke lead after the first round before cruising to a wire-to-wire victory.
South Dakota State teammate and fellow senior Hallie Getz finished in second place with a 9-over tally.
Another Jackrabbit finished strong as Sydney Bormann placed third. Bormann, an incoming freshman is coming off a decorated high school career that included four South Dakota State Class A State individual medalist awards.
Katie Bartlett was fourth while South Dakota State sophomore Elle Carlson was fifth.

Eligibility: Entries are open to male amateur
golfers that reside in South Texas as defined
by the Texas PGA Sections (South of 31
degree parallel, Salado TX and south is break
point), with a certified USGA Handicap Index of
8.4 or less.
Format/Field Size: Play will be contested over 54
holes of Individual Stroke Play. The field is limited to
84 players.
