Ryan Porch wins Montana State Amateur by nine-strokes
LAUREL, MT (July 23, 2016) -- Ryan Porch left little to doubt at the 99th Montana State Amateur finishing 9-under and winning by nine-strokes. Playing at Laurel Golf Club Porch was the only player to finish under-par over the course of the 54-hole event.
Porch, a senior at Idaho, shot rounds of 68-66-73 on his way to the title. Through the first two days of competition Porch carded 13 birdies and just three bogeys. On the final day Porch played conservative golf and was 3-over for his day, until he birdied the final two holes to finish in style.
Tyler Jessop and Jim Coleman finished even-par and tied for second while Jerry Pearsall and Mark Mance shared fourth at 3-over.
