The quarter finalists in the Golf NSW Amateur
Match Play Championships have been decided
after a long day at the Riverside Oaks Golf Resort.
Two thrilling all NSW matchups are set down for
tomorrow with Killara’s Dale Williamson taking on
the red-hot Austin Bautista of Bonnie Doon, while
Troy Moses also of Bonnie Doon is up against
Ballina’s Jay Mackenzie.
In the other two quarter finals, Young Woong Kim
is taking on Sung-Ho Young in an all Korean affair,
while Queensland Giant Killer Steven Cox will be
pitted against Englishman Jack Singh-Brar.
In the women’s event, the quarter finals feature
three all-Korean matchups.
Aussie Amateur Champion Min-Ji Park takes on
Gyo-Rin Park, Min-Gyeong Youn takes on Hyun-
Kyung Park, while Ga-Young Lee takes on Hee-
Jung Lim.
In the only non all-Korean quarter final, Women’s
Lake Macquarie Amateur Champion Hye-Jin Choi
is up against Taiwan’s Yu Chiang Hou.
The quarter finals will begin tomorrow at 8.00am
on the Bungool Course at Riverside Oaks Golf
Resort.
ABOUT THE
NSW Men's Amateur
The NSW Medal is played over two courses. It is
two rounds of 18-holes stroke play and then match
play.
The field is evenly divided between the two
venues for the first day’s play with players
changing venues for their second round. The winner
of
the 36 holes stroke play
section of the Championship is the winner of the
NSW Medal.
The leading 32 players from the NSW Medal
(who have nominated to play in the NSW
Amateur) will be eligible to compete in the NSW
Amateur Championship Match Play, with each
match played over 18-holes other than the Final
which is played over 36-holes. The match play is
seeded with ties determined by lot.
