SACRAMENTO, Calif. (July 10, 2015) -- The 2015 Sacramento City Senior and Super Senior Mens Championship was decided earlier this week at Bing Maloney Golf Club in Sacramento.

Mark Morgan won the Senior division with rounds of 71-69. Morgan finished two ahead of the first round leader Mitch Harrison who shot rounds of 68-74. 2014 champion Jim Knoll finished in third place with scores of 69-74.

In the Super Senior Division, first round leader Jeff Early got off to a rough start in the final round with an opening nine of 41. However, Early battled back to shoot 35 on the back nine for a final round 76 that was good enough to win by 1 shot over four golfers at 148: Jensen, Reuther, Johnson and Ackerman.

ABOUT THE Sacramento City Senior

The 57th City Senior and 16th City Super Senior Men's Championships will be played at Bing Maloney Golf Course on July 22-23, 2025 (Tuesday -Wednesday). The tournament is open to all male amateur golfers ages 55 to 64 (Senior Division) with a GHIN of 9.4 or less, ages 65 and older (Super Senior Division) with a GHIN of 11.4 or less, and ages 75 and older (Legends) with a GHIN of 13.4 or less.

• Seniors will play the blue tees at about 6,550 yards.
• Super Seniors will play the white tees at about 6,300 yards.
• Legends will play the gold tees at about 5,900 yards.

The entry fee is $199 and includes green fees, range balls and awards - power carts are not included.

The tournament format is 36 holes of stroke-play – 18 holes each day. Play will be in threesomes with 9-minute tee time intervals. Second round tee times will be set based on first round scores in each division (lower scores off last). A tie for champion in any of the divisions will be decided in a sudden death playoff starting on the 17th hole. All other ties will be divided evenly by the sum of the combined places. The lowest 36-hole gross scores in the respective divisions will be declared the 2025 City Senior, Super Senior and Legends Champions. The names will be inscribed on the perpetual trophy.

The entry deadline is July 11, 2025, and there will be NO refunds after this date. There will be a $10 administrative fee for any withdrawals prior to the entry deadline.
