Will Gordon goes Wire-to-Wire at Greystone Invitional
Greystone Champion Will Gordon (GI)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — In a result that seemed inevitable after a first round 64, Will Gordon has finished on top at the Greystone Invitational.
Entering the final round with a 4-shot lead over Nathan Mallonee, Gordon extended his lead early with three birdies on the front nine to go out in 34. The Davidson, N.C. native made two bogeys and two birdies coming in to cruise to an impressive 7-shot victory over Australian Anthony Quayle and Alabama sophomore Robby Prater. The pair finished in a tie for 2nd at 6-under par.
Gordon will head to Vanderbilt in the fall in hopes of helping the team replace recent graduate and newly crowned Northeast Amateur Champion, Hunter Stewart.
