Northeast Ohio Amateur: Balcar holds lead
PEPPER PIKE, Ohio (June 20, 2014) -- After the second round of the Northeast Ohio Amateur, two players separated themselves from the rest of the field after both posting 5-under 66. Andrew Bailey who shot 1-under 71 on Monday at Silver Lake Country Club was the first player to post the 5-under 66 at Madison Country Club.

A few pairings after Bailey turned in his scorecard, Michael Balcar who lead the event after the first round posted a 5-under 66 for himself. Balcar is currently at 8-under with 36 holes remaining and has a 2 stroke lead over his former teammate Bailey. The final 36 holes will be played next Monday, June 23 at The Country Club.

The Senior Division had another strong showing from Jim Durr of Silver Lake Country Club after posting an even-par 71. Durr has a six shot lead over Mike Cassell from the Country Club of Hudson who is currently at 4-over for the tournament. The seniors will play 18 holes monday morning at The Country Club to determine the champion.

Madison Country Club was in great shape and was able to hold over an inch and a half of rain causing a two hour rain delay in the morning. Even with the wet conditions groups were able to move quickly around the course. Our first two groups of two-somes played their rounds in two and a half hours with all the other groups finishing in just over four hours.
