Host San Diego wins Farms Collegiate

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. (Feb. 11, 2014) -- San Diego shot a 3-under 285 on Tuesday to run away with The Farms Collegiate Invite by 14 shots. The Toreros finished with a three-round total of 4-under 860 at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
Kennesaw State, No. 35 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, finished in second place at 874. Loyola Marymount shot 19-over 883 for a third place finish and another shot back in fourth was Pacific. Duke, at 23 over, rounds out the top-five.
San Diego’s Grant Forrest lead after Round 2 and was still at the top of the individual leaderboard after the final round. Joining him – in a tie for first – was Kennesaw State’s Jimmy Beck. Both players finished at 6-under 210. Other than the co-medalists, Duke’s Motin Yeung was the only other player to finish under par. Yeung finished in third at 3 under.
