USC grabs lead at Northrop Grumman
PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. (Feb. 10, 2014) -- USC notched the only under-par round of the day, using a 5-under 279 to take a 14-shot lead after the second round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge Monday at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The Trojans are the only team under par at 1 under through two rounds.
Annie Park, last year's NCAA individual champion, carded her second straight 4-under 67 for USC, ranked second in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. At 8 under, she leads teammate Kyung Kim by five shots.
UCLA, Golfweek's top-ranked team, notched a 7-over 291 to drop to 13 over overall. No.3 Duke is third at 16 over while first-round leader Baylor is fourth at 17 over.
Oklahoma's Alexandra Kaui and Florida's Sarah Schober, who is competing as an individual, are tied for third individually at 2 under.
