California Women's: Northwestern's Park wins it

ROCKLIN, Calif. -- Northwestern's Kaitlin Park (Tustin, Calif./Beckman) won the California Women's Championship (CWC) at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. The 18th annual event was 54 holes of individual stroke play and ran July 15-17.
Park, the 2013 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, had a 54-hole score of 215, carding a 74-73-68, and won the tournament on a four-hole playoff.
The 2013-14 season will be Park's sophomore campaign with the Wildcats. She had a stellar first year at Northwestern, winning the conference's newcomer of the year award and was a First-Team All-Big Ten honoree. Park ranked second on the team in scoring average at 75.06 and helped the squad capture its first Big Ten title in program history. She also helped guide the squad to a sixth-place finish at the NCAA East Regional and top-15 finish at the 2013 NCAA Championships.

Championship is open to all female amateurs with a
maximum USGA Handicap Index of 18.4 as of July
23,
2023. The field is limited to 90 players with the
lowest
handicap indexes in each division as of July 23,
2023.
Players can earn NCGA, SGCA and World Amateur
Golf
Ranking (WAGR) points.
