Designed in 1970 by world-renowned
architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., Port Royal
Golf Course has recently undergone a
$14.5 million renovation, a complete
makeover spearheaded by original design
team member Roger Rulewich in
preparation for the 2009/2010 PGA Grand
Slam of Golf.
Thanks to the valued support of the
Bermuda Government, Port Royal is now
one of the world’s premier public golf
courses featuring breathtaking tropical
landscapes and sweeping ocean vistas—an
open, natural environment created by
replacing invasive tree species with
hundreds of Bermuda cedar saplings.
Now with Atlantic Ocean views from nearly
every hole, Port Royal is Bermuda's most
picturesque course with tranquil new lakes
supported by a state-of-the-art irrigation
system for world-class conditions year
round. In addition to brand new TifEagle
greens, which offer a more consistent roll,
the course has been extended by 281
yards. At a total of 6,842 yards it is now
Bermuda’s longest and most exciting
course.
