About
For two years running, the New Zealand
native was the top ranked amateur
women's player in the world. She
captured the 2012 US Amateur, and 4
professional titles including two on the
LPGA Tour -- all while playing as an
amateur. At the tender age of 16, Ko
made the decision to turn professional on
Oct. 23, 2013 and played her first major
event in late November of the same year
at the CME Titleholders, finishing T21 and
winning over $16,000.
