Amateurs remain at the 2013 U.S. Women's
Open. After six
players made the 36-hole cut, here's a look at
how they're faring
late on Day 3:
Brooke Mackenzie Henderson: The
Canadian made the
cut as the low amateur but struggled with a
third-round 83. She
sits in a tie for 62nd entering Sunday's
finale.
Lydia Ko: A likely favorite entering
the week, Ko shot
even par on Thursday but struggled
throughout her round Friday. She made the
cut but shot 79 on
Saturday and will start Sunday's final round
near the bottom of
the field. While she's not in contention of
winning, she'll be
among three golfers duking it out for low
amateur honors on
Sunday.
Casie Cathrea: Cathrea, a member
of amateurgolf.com,
shot 75-73-79 throughout the first three
rounds and is 7-over. She'll battle with Chen
and Ko for low
amateur honors on Sunday.
Doris Chen: Chen shot a second
straight 74 and sits
tied with Cathrea after both players shot third-
round 79s. The
two will battle for low amateur honors
Sunday.
line.
Yueer Feng: Feng slipped in under
the cut line at 7-over
and had a late tee time in Round 3 on
Saturday afternoon.
Nelly Korda: Korda, the sister of
fellow field member
Jessica Korda, fired a 73 on Thursday and
followed it up with a Friday 77. She made the
cut and teed off
late Saturday in the third round.
ROUND 3 UPDATES FROM GOLFWEEK: Inbee
Park doesn't do a lot
of talking, but she's sure to attract the lion's
share of the
commentary this weekend as she chases a
women's grand slam
at Sebonack.
Having won the first two majors of the
season, Park took the
second-round lead of the U.S. Women's Open
on Friday with a
68. She'll play in the day's last group
alongside I.K. Kim – after
the second round is completed, that is, with
play suspended
Friday evening after fog settled into
Southampton, N.Y., with
several groups still on the course.
Kim is two shots back, with Lizette Salas five
back. Jodi Ewart
Shadoff also began the day five shots back,
with three holes
remaining in her second round.
