ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (June 7, 2013) -- Ryan Evans fired a 6-under 66 at the Old Course and leads all players after the first round at the 2013 St. Andrews Links Trophy.
The 72-hole stroke play event draws one of the top amateur fields in all of Europe. The field plays three tournament rounds at the Old Course.
Nathan Kimsey, the sixth-ranked amateur in the world according to the Golfweek/amateurgolf.com Player Rankings, is two shots back. The reigning Terra Cotta winner shot an opening-round 68.
Belgian Thomas Detry, who plays for NCAA runner-up Illinois, leads a group of three players at 3-under 69.
Second-round play beginst early Saturday morning before cuts are made.

cut to the low 40 and ties. The final two rounds
