NYC Amateur: Buckley wins in playoff
STATEN ISLAND (May 26, 2013) -- Former Southern Methodist golfer Max Buckley downed former St. John's player Pat Wilson in a playoff to take the title at the 2013 New York City Amateur Championship at La Tourette Golf Club.
Buckley fired a final-round 68 to finish regulation tied with Wilson.
The two upended defending champion Ryan McCormick by three shots. McCormack finished alone in third place.
James Maio topped amateurgolf.com Player Staff Member Stuart Goldstein by two shots to win the Senior Division.
In the Super Senior field, Doug Vergith was a three-shot winner over Robert Miller.
The event was played under difficult weather. According to Goldstein, players were told to skip the 16th hole on account of pin placement and wind.

(ages 50-59) and Super Senior (ages 60 & over)
divisions. Open to all male amateur golfers with a
USGA handicap. Minimum handicap requirements for
the Men's division is 8.0 or lower, and for Seniors is
12.0 or lower. Non-exempt players must pre-qualify.
