McCarthy takes Kenridge Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (June 2, 2013) — Denny McCarthy fired consecutive rounds of 68 in the second and final rounds to win the Kenridge Invitational by three.
First-round co-leader Steve Liebler finished in solo second place, compiling a three round total of 68-72-69.
McCarthy, a native of Burtonsville, Md., is the No. 20-ranked amateur in the nation. He finished 2nd at the 2012 Porter Cup.

Kenridge Invitational
54 hole stroke play invitational event that draws a
strong regional field from Virginia, Maryland,
Tennessee, and other states in the Southeast and
beyond. Host club Farmington Country Club is set
up in tournament condition for the event with fast,
firm greens and healthy rough. The Kendridge
Invitational has been played since 1936. It is an
official
VSGA Points event.
