RALEIGH, NC – Final results of the 33rd Carolinas Mid-Amateur Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Raleigh Country Club in Raleigh, NC on Sunday, April 14, 2013 (6820 yards, par 36-35—71, 73.8/135). Scott Harvey, 34, of Greensboro, NC successfully defending his Carolinas Mid-Amateur title by carding a final round three-under 68 to win by five strokes over Pat Thompson of Asheville, NC. Harvey’s round of 68 was the only subpar round of the championship and only player to finish under par. “I was struggling coming into this weekend but as the tournament went on I started feeling it coming back. It all came together on Sunday for me,” Harvey said. Harvey ’s win is his fifth career CGA title (2011 Carolinas Amateur; 2011 Carolinas Four-Ball; 2012, 13 Carolinas Mid-Amateur; 2012 North Carolina Mid-Amateur). “I have been on a pretty good roll the past couple of years. I really want to make the Walker Cup team this year so winning events like this will hopefully help my resume,” Harvey noted.

member of the
Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has a current
USGA Handicap
Index® at a member club that does not exceed 7.4.
