Terra Cotta Invitational: Kimsey, Shelton tied for lead
NAPLES, Florida (April 6, 2013) -- After rain washed out Friday's scheduled first round, players teed off early on Saturday to try to get 36 holes in and catch up with the tournament's scheduled Sunday conclusion.
They were able to do it, with the help of a break in the weather, and, of course, daylight savings time.
Nathan Kimsey of England (68) was the only player to break 70 in the morning on the challenging 7097-yard, par 72 Naples National layout. Kinsey followed with an afternoon 73 to stand at 3-under 141, tied with Robbie Shelton of Alabama who posted rounds of 71-70.
Jim Liu of Smithtown, NY was the only player to break 70 in the afternoon, his 73-69 puts him in a logjam of four players at 2-under.
The final round will be played on Sunday. Click the results link below to view the latest scores.
