Salinas City: Moore, Cater win titles
SALINAS, Calif. (March 25, 2013) -- Nick Moore knocked off top-seed Drew Nelson 4-and-3 to win the championship match at the 2013 Jim Lathum Salinas City Match Play Championship at Salinas Fairways Golf Course.
Moore had reached the final with a 3-and-2 victory over Brian Ngata in the semifinals.
After moving past the first round with a 1-up victory, Moore simply went on a tear in match play. He defeated Joe Huston 7-and-6 in the Round of 16 and rolled past Sean Dyer 6-and-5 to advance to the semifinals.
Kim Cater defeated Casey Boyns in 22 holes to win the Senior Division.
A newcomer to the Northern California senior circuit, Cater took down Rob Adolph 1-up in the semifinals and Neil Duffy in the quarters.

weekends with qualifying the first day, then two
matches each day with a 36-hole final match for the
Championship flight and
an 18-hole final for all other flights (Senior/Super
Senior, and Net). Senior/Super
Senior flights are on the
second of the two weekends.
