John R. Williams: Team Denunzio wins in playoff
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sept. 22, 2012) -- Ronald and David DeNunzio defeated Tim Spitz and Brad Wilder on the first playoff hole to claim the 2012 John R. Williams Invitational title.
The Denunzio brothers fired a final-round 70 to withstand a major surge from the Smitz-Wilder team as well as the third-place team of Bill Hutcheson and Den Keogh, which both fired 67s in the final round.
In the playoff, David DeNunzio buried a 50-foot putt to claim the victory.
The winners were keyed by a first-round 66 and followed things up with solid golf the remainder of the tournament.
In the senior division, Randy Elliot and Mike Walters won by two shots over two-time champions Don Erickson and John Benson.

John R. Williams Invitational
54-hole two man best ball format with Mid-Am and Senior divisions. By invitation only.
Entrants must have a
handicap of 3.4 or less, with the team total not to
exceed 5.5. Both members
of teams in the Senior Division must be 55 years of
age
by the first day of
the tournament. Senior index requirements are 4.4
individual and 7.2 team.
