Fox wins W. Virginia Senior Amateur
WALKERSVILLE, W.V. (Aug. 26, 2012) -- Steve Fox has won his fourth West Virginia Senior Amateur. The 2011 Champion defended his title by defeating Morgantown’s Mike Marrara 5 & 3 during the final match this morning on Stonewall Resort’s Arnold Palmer course.
Winning the Silver division was Crab Orchard’s Jim Cragett over Morgantown’s Ken Juskowich 5 & 4, while Charleston’s Allen Bailes defeated Mason’s Gary Roush 5 & 4 as well. Huntington’s Craig Lewandowski won the Senior consolation bracket, 3 & 1, over Morgantown’s Ronald Gacek.

Entries are open to male amateur golfers with an
active GHIN Handicap index through a WVGA
Member
Club, and who are 50 years of age or older by the
first
round of Championship. The tournament will be 36
holes of stroke play qualifying followed by match
play.
Thirty-two players will advance in the Senior
Division,
16 players will advance in the Silver Division, and 8
players will advance in the Gold Division.
