Long Island Amateur: Blum medals, Saladino set to defend
ROSLYN, New York (June 19, 2012) -- Michael Blum of Engineers Country Club fired a 2-under 69 to take medalist honors at qualifying for the 2012 Long Island Amateur Championship.
Blum edged Philip Gutterman of Pine Hollow Country Club by two shots. Daring Goldstein of Noyac Golf Club was three shots back of Blum alone in third place.
The golfers mentioned above will be seeds 2, 3 and 4 when match play begins early Wednesday at Engineers Country Club. Reigning champion Joseph Saladino is back to defend his title and will be the No. 1 seed.
