Normandie Amateur: Frost leads after round 1
ST. LOUIS, Mo (May 19, 2012) -- Round 1 of the 26th Normandie Amateur was completed today with Dr. Andy Frost (Bellerive CC) holding the lead after a 3-under-par 68 Saturday. Frost will be in the final group Sunday with 2-time defending champion Skip Berkmeyer (Aberdeen GC) and Tony Gumper (Normandie GC) who had 2-under 69s in Round 1. Also coming in with a 69 was 1999 Normandie champion Scott Fann (St. Peters GC).
Playing in the same group with Fann and Berkmeyer was John Anderson (Norwood Hills CC) who was also under par with a 70. Sitting at Even par on the day were Jeff Johnson (Bogey Hills CC), Bob Hanneken (Persimmon Woods GC), Scott Horton (Aberdeen GC) and Mike Ehlers (WingHaven CC).
One last highlight of the day was John Campbell (Gateway National GL) who recorded an ace on the Par 3 12th Hole, he would go on to finish at 3-over 75.
