Josh Sihota leads AGC Diablo Valley Amateur
BRENTWOOD, Calif. (March 10, 2102) -- Josh Sihota, a senior at Deer Valley High in Antioch, recorded 4 birdies and 2 bogeys at Deer Ridge on Saturday for a 2-under 69, good for the first round lead at the amateurgolf.com Diablo Valley Amateur.
Sihota, who is on his way to CSU Stanislaus this Fall, was the only player to break par. He birdied Nos. 8 and 9 to shoot 1-under 35 on the front and another one under 34 on the back. Two shots back is Shadow Lakes/Deer Ridge employee Blake Bertrand and mid-am stalwart Patrick Burda. There are ten players within 4 shots of the lead. Terry Leach leads the senior division with 75. That division seemed to have the worst of the days windy, cool weather. Net is led by Antioch resident Brian Sweeney with an even par 71 followed by amateurgolf.com lifetime member Lyle Covino.
