Women's Eastern Senior: Pat Brogden defends

AIKEN. S.C. (Oct. 20, 2011) -- Pat Brogden of Garner, No. Carolina successfully defended her title at the Women's Eastern Senior Amateur. Brogden fired a tournament total of one-under par 215 with rounds of 70, 71 and 74. She was twelve strokes better than second place finisher Patty Moore who shot 227 with rounds of 74, 78, 75. Brogden's 215 was two better than the previous tournament record set by Patty Moore in 2007.

The super senior flight was won by Reggie Parker at 235 (76, 81, 78). Parker finished twelve ahead of second place finisher Claudeen Lindburg at 247.

ABOUT THE Women's Eastern Senior Amateur

The Championship is open to female amateur golfers who will have reached their 50th birthday, have a certified handicap index of 17.5 or less, and belong to a Women’s Eastern Golf Association (WEGA) Member Club. Clubs in the following states are eligible to join the Association: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
