VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Sept. 19, 2011) -- Brenda Pictor, Marrieta, Ga, medals at the U.S. Women's Mid-Am with a score of +2, 146 (72,74) and tees off in her first match this afternoon.
Amateurgolf.com staffer Lynne Cowan (shown at left) fired a 76-77--153 for an 11 seed and will not tee off until 8:18 a.m. Tuesday morning when she faces the 54 seed, Lisa McGill from Philadelphia.

U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur
The U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur originated in
1987 to provide a national competitive arena
for amateurs 25 and older. Besides the age
restriction, the event is open to those with a
USGA Handicap Index of 9.4 or lower. It is
one of 14 national championships conducted
annually by the USGA, 10 of which are strictly
for amateurs.
