My sixth hole-in-one came on the 17th hole of the Brookside Men’s member/guest invitational last month. My reward was a GMC Terrain compliments of Elk Grove GMC Buick - $30 k worth of automobile. The hole measured 175 yards over water and I used a Titliest Pro V1x. It was a completely flush 7-iron shot that started right of the pin and drew to the flag with the help of a little cross wind. The ball landed a few feet just short and right of the pin then spun left into the cup. Nothing skinny, skanky, or scuffy about it.
This would be just another “hole-in-one win the car story” if not for the story behind it. For the last year I have been living with my parents while working through the final negotiations of my impending divorce. To settle some community bank accounts I had to sell my car and have been living with my parents and driving my father’s pick up. In other words, I won this car without having another car to my name. Talk about the golf gods looking down on me. This is a testament that good things happen to good people and as soon as I am back on my feet I will return to the amateurgolf.com Tournament Series in full force.
