Tennessee Junior: Daugherty wins
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 8, 2011) -- Rain finally found its way to Harpeth Hills GC, but only delayed play for an hour. Once the rain passed, the 48th Annual Tennessee Junior Amateur Championship third round was under way and one golfer was intent on getting his name engraved on the Harold Eller trophy.
Grant Daugherty (Alcoa), a University of Tennessee commit, went out in 3 under par 33 that more or less sealed up the title. By the time the back nine was over, Daugherty had posted a 2 under par 70 for a three day total of 11 under par 205. Kory Webb (Knoxville) finished in second place, four shots back, at 7 under par 209. Austin Kramer (Knoxville) and Wes Gosselin (Knoxville), 2 under par 214 and even par 216 respectively, rounded out the top four.
